Beker met oranje pennen

My name is Anke Ridderikhof.

I have loved languages for ages. I trained as a translator, and love to check and correct all kinds of texts.

I also love crafts. As a child I knitted, crocheted and cross stitched, and a couple of years ago I started quilting.

For years I dreamt about combining these two passions and suddenly I found out about Tech Editing. This is very close to what I used to do, writing and translating documents with clear instructions so people can understand them easily and can follow the instructions at home. And that is, of course, also what knitting patterns should do.

I followed an introductory workshop and fell in love. This is what I wanted to do, so I started reading, studying, improving my knitting skills. I checked with the chamber of commerce and the tax office and followed several other courses.

The result is Anke’s Orange Pen.

And why did I pick this name? I correct your texts but I keep the style of the original document. So I do not correct with a red pen. That is too strict. And Orange is the national color of my country The Netherlands.
